Enjoying two weeks on the island Madagascar, which is very beautiful and still no touristic at all. Therefore highly recommended for everybody looking for something off the beaten track…

The itinerary was to fly from the capital to the south and then take the bus back and make several stop on the way:

  • Ambola is a lost village on the south west coast and is the perfect start for relaxing and exploring the surrounding like the Tsimanampetsotsa National Park
  • The next stop was in the Isalo National Park for hiking. We didn’t want to do the usual day tour, so we decided for three days. Which was in the end quite challenging as I didn’t have the right shoes to walk nearly 60km. But the landscape compensated for all the pain…
  • Afterwards we went to Ambalavao which was perfect to give my feet a bit a rest
  • The next stop was Camp Catta in the Tsaranoro Reserve. It is only reachable by 4×4 therefore we have be very surprised how crowed it was. But it was worth the side trip
  • Then we went via Fianaratsoa to Antsirabe and then back to Antananarivo
